Trading #3

Today, is the last Tuesday Trade which incorporates the items my daughter sent me at the beginning of March. The clothes are mine, but the scarf is hers. I paired it with some khaki skinnies, cream tank and some patterned shoes. I changed out the earrings a couple of times just for fun.

I like this scarf a lot. I know I have a several ways I could style this piece but I just didn’t get it done!

Another Trade + Some Link Ups

This month has been so fun. I feel like I have a little piece of my daughter back at home. Her creative trendy style has not been in our home for several years nor has her presence been in our little city or state. Another part of the country is blessed by her creative artsy little self. I have to admit I’m envious of those who get to hang out with her on a regular basis. But children have to grow up and live their lives…

One of the pieces she sent me a little striped top, which by the way, I just love. I had been thinking about the fact that I do not really own anything significant with stripes. I had a little fun coming up with some looks.

I styled the top a few different ways. I had  gray polka dot skirt that I was just waiting to pair with stripes. I also have a black and white striped skirt that I wanted to pair with the top as opposite stripes. I added the mustard cardigan to both mixes and was happy with the results.

I am adding some other little link ups along with this post.

Last week I tried but failed to get linked up with my blogger friend, Selah at A Bibliophile’s Style for Thoughtful Third Thursday. I had a plan and wanted to share the outfit below. My inspiration comes from my favorite book which is The Hiding Place {although I’m not reading it now….because now I’m reading RetroChristianity for my theology class}. So this is my take on 40ish style. A floral print dress {too short but oh well}, a cardigan, simple jewelry, wedges and a little bunish hair style going on.

There is another link up I wanted to participate in today. Another blogger friend, Alex at Undergraduate Style is having a link up for Color Me Tuesday. It’s a challenge to incorporate any of the new Spring colors from Pantone. I do have a few of the colors in my closet, but I chose this dazzling blue. It’s a great color!

Today I’m linking up with A Bibliophile’s Style, Undergraduate Style & Style Elixir.

Linking up Wednesday – The Pleated Poppy  & Get Your Pretty On & Because Shanna Said So.

Linking up Thursday – Vodka Infused Lemonade & Perfectly Coutured & Mix and Match Fashion

A Little More Trading

Last Tuesday I debuted a post for Tuesday Trades. This is a little fun opportunity for my daughter and I to swap a few clothing items each month. This month she sent me three lovely tops and a scarf. Today I am wearing another one of the tops. Continue reading

Tuesday Trades Debut

I am so excited to debut TUESDAY TRADES today! This will be a segment where I share outfits that are a mix of my clothes and some of my daughter’s items. I know this is probably a no-no of sorts given our age difference and what-not, but it should be a fun little experiment.

A little history is probably applicable in order to appreciate this post. When my daughter was in high school, we would typically watch What Not to Wear each week. Stacey and Clinton inspired us and taught us quite a bit. This was a launching point and my daughter ran with it. She was not afraid to mix colors, patterns, textures, etc. Her closet was filled with a beautiful array of unique choices {and still is}. When she lived at home, I so enjoyed finding something to borrow from her closet. There was always something that would add pizzaz to my normal basic wardrobe. BIG blessing! Continue reading
